I’m relatively fit and comfortable on the bike and happiest on mild gradients or the flat.
2 Roo’s:
I regularly ride for fitness, dry days I ride to work, and weekend fun with friends. I enjoy an active healthy lifestyle and occasional physical challenges.
3 Roo’s:
Fitness and health is my life. I ride regularly on a weekly basis with mates and am comfortable with rides of around 4 hours at a relatively strong pace.
4 Roo’s:
I ride on average 250 + k’s a week and enjoy a 100k rides on the weekends. I love to train, improve, and sometimes challenge amongst my friends.
5 Roo’s:
Riding is my life! I’m not interested in racing, I don’t need to prove anything to anyone. I love the challenge and the idea of where my legs and bike can take me. My friends and I are always looking for the next cycling adventure.

A week in the South of France Cycling Holiday – Day by Day
An authentic rural French experience, free of commercialism, full of spellbinding charm, history and heritage.
Day 1: Bonjour!
Welcome to your discovery of the Real South of France! Your VeloRoo holiday commences when we collect you from either Beziers town, train station or Beziers International airport by 3pm.
Day 2: Discover Beziers
This mornings ride takes us into Beziers. A nice introduction to the area. Enjoy coffee in the main tree lined Allee Paul Riquet and watch the town come to life. On the ride you will pass through the vineyards surrounding this historic town. In May you will be surrounded by wildflowers and in September you will surrounded by grapes. We will ride back to base to freshen up before returning to Beziers and a chance to explore.
Day 3: It's all about wine!
Framed by both the Mediterranean sea and the dramatic Massif Central this narrow region is blessed with fertile land. Before modern wine was established in the 1800’s, before the turbulent Roman era of over 1000 years ago, the Greeks arrived 2500 years ago and recognised and created a wine and olive region. On today’s ride we discover how the region has adapted and survived intact despite it’s turbulent history of religious crusades and land conquests.
Day 4: Another wine region - St Chinian
Today’s ride highlights the terroir diversity in this special corner of the Occitanie. We’ll ride though 2 completely different Wine Appellation regions. Also en route is a wonderful climb, the original road across the range in fact, long since bypassed. 6 kilometres long and averaging 6% winding up through fragrant Mediterranean garrigue scrub. Towards the top you will be rewarded with views across the vineyards to the Mediterranean.
Day 5: Market Day
A chance to rest your legs from the bike and do some exploring on foot. We visit the historic town of Pezenas for the buzz and atmosphere of the Saturday market. Don’t forget to follow the lead of the locals and pause for a coffee stop and people watch.
Day 6: Gorges l'Orb
One of our personal favourites. Today’s cycling route will highlight the diversity of the landscape over a relatively short distance. Starting with our beautiful vineyard landscapes we head into the foothills with a gentle climb through a typical vigneronne village to the limestone plateau and into the native scrub land. At 20km in we will stop for a coffee in a picture postcard village on L’Orb river.
Day 7: Circulade Villages
Our ride takes us to the best medieval Circulade villages, unique to this tiny region of France. They have protected their citizens for over 1,000 years and are identified as some of Europe’s oldest examples of small town planning. The roads have been selected to offer beautiful views of the undulating vineyard landscape and the first ranges of the dramatic Escandorge Mountains.
Day 8: Au revoir!
After breakfast bid farewell to your fellow travellers and continue on your adventures. Transfers to Beziers train station or airport at pre-arranged times.
