About us

VéloRoo is run by Australian couple, Steve & Julia

In 2004 on a holiday in France we drove through the Alps and saw writing on the road. It was from the Tour de France; it was Galibier. That year we sat diligently in front of the TV and watched the overnight live coverage, looking out for the places we had seen. The scenery was spectacular.

At the same time we started to listen to “the voice of cycling”, Phil Liggett, and it’s thanks to Phil and his enthusiasm for cycling that we began our journey to where we are today.

In 2009 we bought a little French village house to spend our holidays in, and we then realised we were in an undiscovered cyclists’ paradise! In 2012 we established our cycling tours and road bike hire business, VéloRoo. We just had to share our awesome cycling area with others!

We actually met through a love of 4 wheels not 2; we were both Motorsport tragics. Our first French holiday was planned around seeing the F1 Monaco GP and Le Mans 24hr. Through VéloRoo, we are able to combine and share our passions with other 2 and 4 wheel enthusiasts, with cycling tours to special events such as the Historic Monaco Grand Prix and the 24hr Velo Le Mans.

It is truly a passion for us to ensure people enjoy the perfect cycling holiday.

We look forward to sharing all we have discovered (and continue to discover) in our awesome cycling region with you.

A word from our clients

Don’t take our word for it - discover why our cycling adventurists have fallen in love with the Occitanie Region of Southern France and the VeloRoo way.

I completed a 9 day cycling trip with Steve and Julia in September. It exceeded all my expectations - cycling, food, hospitality, personalised service, attention to detail - the full French experience. I highly recommend the South of France Vendange tour, especially during grape harvesting season (!). We were also able to organise added extras on either end of the tour (Mediterranean border crossing from Spain to France) and a summit of iconic Mt Ventoux. Steve and Julia go above and beyond and are great company. Lots of thoughtful gestures along the way. Steve will even serenade you with 80s songs if that helps you on the ascents. I am already planning the next trip with VeloRoo.Took South of France Cycling Tour in Sept 2018
'Cranky Julie' was in show-room condition (that's the super light bike). Perfectly maintained and cleaned everyday.
Daily itinerary was spot on, adjusted as required to suit weather and rider ability.
Its not a cycling holiday without friendly hosts, good food and superb wine. We had all this!
Can't wait for my next trip with these guys...Took Iconic Climbs Pyrénées Challenge in June 2017
