Drop weight and save money!

by

Have you ever spent big dollars on a new bit of bike bling with the justification that it saves weight? Me too.

Do you carry more electronic goodies than is really necessary? Me too.

Are your jersey pockets bulging with stuff?

I possibly carry more than most people because, well it is my job. Camera, Phone, a couple of tubes, pump, the list goes on. Less is more, so I started looking around.

With the technology in phones nowadays, I could ditch the camera and use the phone, but I’d still have to fumble for it, so I had a look at putting it on the handle bars. After much researching I found a product called the Quad Lock. What sets Quad Lock apart from other similar products was its simple mechanical locking system and big lever to release the phone. A shock and waterproof phone case will protect the phone as best as possible out on the road.

To replace the computer, I have downloaded the most comprehensive app, Cyclometer GPS. It does everything that the computer did but on the phone.

So in one swoop I have dropped the camera and computer off the scales and out of my jersey pocket. Probably the best part of 500grams, and saved $1,000 not replacing the computer or the camera, bonus!

The best part is … you can too!

Quad Lock have come on board with VéloRoo and are offering a very generous 20% discount off all products when you order on line and use the code VéloRoo at the checkout! How cool is that!

A word from our clients

Don’t take our word for it - discover why our cycling adventurists have fallen in love with the Occitanie Region of Southern France and the VeloRoo way.

Veloroo, headed by Steve and Julia have been a highlight in our travels through Europe. Cycling tours in southern France (Langedoc) are their specialty and so much more than that. It was a great experience which will continue into the future we hope.Took South of France Cycling Tour in July 2016
For us, the tour was a perfect balance of challenging cycling in spectacular scenery and enjoying the local sights, delicious food and wine. Steve and Julia went 'above-and -beyond' to tailor the tour to the needs and interests of our group which included spending an extra day before the tour to ride around their home village of St Genies de Fontedit. Steve was a friendly, hospitable and enthusiastic cycling guide and Julia was superbly reliable and organised - always in the right place at the right time in the support van with refreshments, extra jackets (or a lift home).
We would highly recommend VeloRoo for a cycling holiday!Took Iconic Climbs Pyrénées Challenge in June 2017
