Gr8 Gravel Riding
A Gr8 day out
Gr8 Gravel Day Rides
A big day of Gr8 Gravel when you're short on time - just 2hrs from Brisbane!
Cycling Tour Overview
1 Roo: I’m relatively fit and comfortable on the bike and happiest on mild gradients or the flat.
2 Roo’s: Fitness and health is my life. I ride regularly on a weekly basis with friends and on weekends I’m not daunted by rides of up to 5 hours for a few days back to back.
3 Roo’s: Riding is my life! I’m not interested in racing, I don’t need to prove anything to anyone. I love the challenge and the idea of where my legs and bike can take me. My friends and I are always looking for the next cycling adventure. Want to know more about the VéloRoo Roo levels?
What is Gr8 Gravel?
A ride consisting of loops from a start point giving you the freedom to complete the full course or smaller segments to suit your level.
We draw from our local knowledge of the roads around Crows Nest and bring together an awesome days gravel riding.
It’s all about Smiles per Hour 🙂
This is not a guided ride however Steve will ride at a general pace for those that choose to stay with that group. You will be emailed a GPX file in order to follow the route. The support van will be at a check point enroute to ensure everyone has made it through each section and will sweep the course if necessary. The support van will also have extra water onboard and ride snacks to help you refuel. You can also pop your backpack in the van to be able to access at the checkpoints.
For those with a bit of a distance to travel, you may wish to make a weekend of it and stay at the Crows Nest Tourist Park Qld or the Crows Nest Motel or even check out High Country Hamlets for other accommodation options.
Rider numbers are limited.
If you’ve never ridden a gravel bike and would like to try it out, we have gravel bikes available for hire from $50 – $140 and can also arrange e-mountain-bike hire.
Routes may be adjusted according to weather / road conditions at the time of the event. You will be provided with a GPX file of the routes as well as a printable map with instructions.
Ride Registration from 8am – Rolling at 8:30am.
