1 Roo: I’m relatively fit and comfortable on the bike and happiest on mild gradients or the flat.

2 Roo’s: Fitness and health is my life. I ride regularly on a weekly basis with friends and on weekends I’m not daunted by rides of up to 5 hours for a few days back to back.

3 Roo’s: Riding is my life! I’m not interested in racing, I don’t need to prove anything to anyone. I love the challenge and the idea of where my legs and bike can take me. My friends and I are always looking for the next cycling adventure. Want to know more about the VéloRoo Roo levels?

Where better to begin the 2024 Santos Tour Down Under than exploring the picturesque countryside around Hahndorf.

After a transit up to Hahndorf we will take in the atmosphere of the sign on held along the historic main street.

A coffee stop before we head onto stage through undulating grazing country to watch the first 2024 sprint and QOM of the Women’s World Tour, returning to Hahndorf to see who takes out Stage 1.

We return to the Tour Village in the mini bus where the evening continues at your pace.

    • Saturday 13th January 2024 - Women's Stage 2 : Glenelg - Stirling

Today we ride from the Tour Village through Adelaide’s leafy southern suburbs before ascending in earnest to Blackwood via some tasty gravel trails.

At the top we will reward ourselves with a bakery stop where the finger buns are outrageously good. Before arriving onto the famous Stirling Loop we’ll meander through the Adelaide Hills on little known back roads, for our first pass of the Women’s peloton.  Then continuing on to our designated viewing point with the VéloRoo van in the picturesque village of Stirling for the next passes until the thrilling race finish.

Our return to the Tour Village will delight as we feel the wind through our hair on our smooth wide tyred gravel bikes … life is great!

Tonight of course is the Men’s Classic in the City, so we will be back in time to catch all the action!

    • Sunday 14th January 2024 - Women's Stage 3 : Adelaide - Willunga

Transfers to stage then guided ride – 56km 25% Gravel with 850m elevation

Iconic Willunga. 2024 is the first time the Women’s World Tour celebrate with a hill top finish and seal the 2024 Women’s Tour Down Under Winner.

We ride through the classic McLaren Vale wine country and up to the ridge, pausing to take in the expansive views across the vines to the sea.

We continue over the range to explore some of the fabulous gravel to be found on the Kidman Trail. We’ll return to McLaren Vale in time for a coffee at a local roaster and watch the women pass.

Then it’s our turn to tackle the infamous Willunga Hill to be there in time to witness history in the making. Will the stage winner also be the winner of the 2024 Women’s Tour Down Under? It will all play out right in front of us!

We’ll roll back down to Willunga and enjoy our air conditioned transit back to the Tour Village.

    • Tuesday 16th January 2024 - Ziptrack Men's Stage 1 : Tanunda - Tanunda

Grab a coffee in delightful Angaston before we hit more of the wonderful Barossa gravel. Passing through open farm land we arrive a the KOM point to cheer on the climbers then return to the mini bus to enjoy the last pass and the amazing speed as the peloton head to the finish line.

Like the pro’s you will enjoy the air conditioned bus transfer back to the Tour Village.

      Guided Ride – 72k 25% gravel with 1400m elevation

Another day of climbing we will start off on the road, taking some sneaky little back alleys though the suburbs out to Greenhill. We’ll turn onto the gravel mid way up the climb taking quite a few gravel shortcuts to make our way to the hugely atmospheric Old Norton Summit.

Once the peloton has passed, we leave the crowds for our gravel shortcut over to the punchy – for the Pro’s – 35 km Lobethal Loop. We’ll get 2 passes of the men’s peloton from the VéloRoo viewing spot before we ride back to Adelaide and it’s party atmosphere.

    • Thursday 18th January 2024 - Men's Stage 3 : Tea Tree Gully - Campbelltown.

      Guided Ride – 96km 25% gravel with 1100m elevation

Like the Pro’s we will be hitting the KOM early into our ride. From there we will have a discovery day through the spectacular Adelaide Hills.

We won’t go too far astray though. The Gorge Road awaits. It’s not often a descent is recommended as a viewing spot, but Gorge Road is the exception! The speed of the peloton has to be seen to be believed.

The speed of the public is something else again, so we will peel off and take a much more enjoyable ‘off piste’ route back to the city!

    • Friday 19th January 2024 - Hahn Men's Stage 4 : Murray Bridge - Port Elliott.

Transfers to stage then guided ride – 75km 52% gravel with 950m elevation

There is a lot to unpack today. Depart the Tour Village in our private Mini Bus for the transit to Port Elliott, a first time finish village.

We will leave the sea-side and head up onto the Peninsular’s hills and their expansive views. You’ll discover some of the most remarkable scenery along the quiet back roads as we wander between farm houses and homesteads.

If we’re lucky we might even see a fairy penguin on our journey!

There’ll only be one viewing of the peloton today, but the ride will more than make up for it!

After the stage finish we jump back into the airconditioned minibus and head back to Adelaide.

The race route is a challenging circuit in the Adelaide Hills with the peloton making multiple passes.
